GENERAL FATIGUE

INTENTION My intention here is to look at general fatigue and to consider some of its causes and treatmens. Some are quite simple and can be easily fixed in a matter of days. Others are far more sever and are multilayered. Nutrition is very safe though and with the proper amount of conservative experimentation with diet it is possible to regain your energy for work, regain the emotional availability for loving the people in your life, and regaining the mental clarity to excel in the classroom. In the following is a brief summary of common causes that are common in the clinical setting. I have included brief comments on treatments that others have found helpful. This blog is not meant to treat any person and it is always recommended that you see your primary care physician for treatment. QUICK FIXES 1-Refined sugar or carbs. These foods increase inflammation throughout the body and in the brain. Unless you have any contra indications it might be helpful to abstain from one or both for a two week period and see if energy increases. 2-Lack of exercise. Exercise increases the hormone serotonin. This hormone decreases inflammation throughout the body and increases the body's innate ability to heal itself. 3-Dehydration. It is recommended that you drink half your weight (pounds) in ounces. If you weigh 160 lbs then you would be drinking 80 ounces of water each day. This is pure water. It is recommended to squeeze some fresh lime in your water to increase your body's uptake and to fend off viruses. 4-Low Sodium. This is common during warm days and excessive sweating. 5-Alkalosis. The blood must maintain a balance between being basic or acidic. If Alkalosis (basic) is suspected then this can be remedied by taking 1 Tablespoon of apple cider vinegar twice a day in water. This condition of alkalosis will cause chronic fatigue. For supporting cell energy and antioxidants CoQ-Zyme 100 Plus has been found to be helpful. OTHER CAUSES 1-Low Lysine. Lysine is an amino acid found largely in chicken, pork, or lentil's. Raw foods and veal bone are a good source of Lysine. Whey Protein Concentrate with protein metabolizing factors and material is often helpful as well. 2-Low vitamin B. An animal can survive longer when all the vitamin B's are missing rather then only one. For this reason it is best to take a vitamin B complex. 3-Poor oxygenation. This is usually a result of low vitamin C, red blood cells, or bicarbonate (the primary pH buffer in the body). Excessive vitamin C deficiency has been correlated with any person in respiratory distress. Stamina Caps are helpful for broad oxygen enhancing support. 4-Poor muscle tone noted with fatigue. This can be caused by low vitamin B or E, low protein (may need to take HCL at every meal for protein break down and absorption), or low trace minerals (tendon or ligament laxity is noted here). Bio-Trophic Plus is a good source of vitamins and minerals. Whey Protein Concentrate with protein metabolizing factors and material is often helpful. NOT SO QUICK FIXES 1-Pelvic malposition or asymmetry in posture while standing. While standing in front of a mirror you may notice one shoulder sagging lower than the other or one hip hiked higher than the other. It takes a lot of energy for the body to compensate when the body is not in line. You will need to see a Chiropractic doctor for this. 2-Sudden fatigue. This may be due to problems in the muscle that pumps the lungs, the diaphragm. The person will be seen yawning so the body can shift pH balance. You will need to see a doctor who practices Applied Kinesiology for correction of the diaphragm. 3-Morning fatigue. Palpating the sternum at the 4th rib junction there may be a tender point. You will need to see a doctor who practices Applied Kinesiology for correction. 4-Visceral problems. Organs involved may be the liver, adrenals, or the pancreas. You will need to see a doctor who practices Applied Kinesiology for correction. ADB5-Plus is good for adrenal support. For 'adrenals' see blog posted on "adrenal fatigue syndrome." CONCLUSION I hope this has been helpful and has given you the tools to manage your life a little bit better than before. Knowledge truly is power when it is put into practice.
